Le Panier is a very French bakery in Pike Place Market, Seattle (1902 Pike Place). Founded in 1983 when a Frenchman recruited bakers from Normandy, the shop operates as a scratch bakery using French methods and pure ingredients. The menu features classic French breads (baguettes, campagne loaves), croissants, macarons, sweets and pâtisseries, plus savory croissant fillings, puff-pastry tarts, sandwiches, and coffee/espresso drinks. Open daily about 7 AM–5 PM; orders can be placed, with pickup and no delivery.

What to try

  • Paris-Brest

    Choux pastry with house-made praline and hazelnut mousseline cream, topped with almonds and powdered sugar (available beginning October 2).

  • Roulé Raisins

    Croissant swirled with sugared raisins.

  • Boîte de Dix (10 macarons)

    A box of ten macarons in a gift box tied with a ribbon.

  • D'Orsay

    Layers of chocolate mousse over génoise, topped with ganache; slice or 10" cake (serves 10).

  • Jambon Mornay (savory)

    Ham and Emmental croissant with mornay sauce.
