Say it: pee-sah-lah-dee-AIR (approximate English pronunciation)

Pissaladière puts a generous layer of soft cooked onions on bread dough, with anchovies and dark olives adding contrast. It is associated with Nice and nearby Mediterranean food traditions. Despite its flat shape, it is not simply a tomato-and-cheese pizza. It may be offered as a small slice, a sharing plate or a bakery snack.
